Mahjong King is a great Mahjong layout depicting the King piece from the popular game of Chess. In China, however, emperors, not kings, are known to have ruled. Emperors in ancient China had enormous power, but also enormous responsibility. Also called the "son of heaven," the emperor is given the divine right to rule over all people, but is expected to do so in their best interest, not his own. An absolute monarch, although in practice dependent on an inner circle of advisers, the emperor's mystique was enhanced by his invisibility to ordinary people, as he rarely left the imperial palace.
